Joint Meeting with Providence Rotary
 

The February 13, 2017 meeting was a joint meeting with the Providence Rotary Club.  The Guest Speaker was RID Dean Rohrs, who will assume the role of Rotary International Vice President on July 1, 2017.

Representing East Providence/Seekonk were:  David Kent, Steve Propatier, Tom Foley, Judy Silva, Helen Siravo. and Valerie Perry.

 

The Guest Speaker, Dean Rohrs, was born in South Africa and then immigrated to Canada.  She said today's Rotary is quite different from the Rotary she joined 26 years ago.  She said clubs should take advantage of the flexibility that Rotary International has offered in order to grow membership, which is critical in North America.  Because of declining membership, this part of the world has lost two zones, where the areas in other parts of the world, such as India and Africa, are growing rapidly.
